11/11 NFL PREVIEW MIAMI AT L.A. RAMS

11/11 NFL PREVIEW: L.A. RAMS -2.5 vs. MIAMI DOLPHINS, TOTAL 49

The Miami Dolphins (2-6) head west to face the L.A. Rams (4-4) in a matchup of hot vs cold. Since Tua Tagovailoa’s return to Miami’s lineup, the Dolphins have lost two close games, while the Rams come into this contest riding a three-game win streak. The Rams have started to find their rhythm as they get healthier, and with key receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in action, they’re well-positioned to challenge NFL defenses. Although Miami is a desperate team,we will take at the total here.

With Tua at quarterback, Miami’s offense has shown it can score, as seen in their 27-point performances in each of the last two games since his return. This Dolphins offense, led by Tua and equipped with dynamic playmakers like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, is dangerous and can put up points quickly, especially against a defense like the Rams’, which isn’t known for being a shutdown unit. Last week, the Rams allowed Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith to torch them for 363 passing yards, underscoring their vulnerability. The Rams’ only real path to slowing down Miami’s offense would be to force multiple turnovers—a task easier said than done against a Dolphins team that has protected the ball fairly well under Tua. Miami’s ability to score on the road has been evident, and it’s worth noting that, since 2022, Miami games have gone over the total in 14 of 19 road matchups when excluding the three games Tua missed this year.

On the Rams’ side, their offensive unit has benefited from improved health and consistency. With Kupp and Nacua creating mismatches downfield, and Kyren Williams providing stability in the ground game, the Rams have a well-balanced attack that can threaten even solid defenses. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has leaned on his weapons in recent weeks, utilizing his full compliment of receivers. Despite this offensive firepower, oddsmakers have dropped the game’s total from 50 to 49, likely due to cautious bettors leaning on the Rams’ recent lower-scoring trends. However, with Miami’s high-powered offense and the Rams’ newfound rhythm, we are looking for points tonight.

The Rams, though playing at home, have not been consistent on defense. The Dolphins, on the other hand, have put up big numbers on the road the last two weeks with Tua back, which is why we’re leaning on the over in this one.
Given both teams’ explosiveness on offense this matchup has all the ingredients for a higherscoring game. With the Rams healthier than they’ve been all season and the Dolphins equipped with explosive playmakers, it’s likely that each team will find plenty of scoring opportunities. While some bettors may lean toward the Rams’ recent trends or Miami’s inconsistent record, it’s hard not to see points in bunches thsi Monday night.
